Two months ago I left my job. I was working as a project manager for a web-design/jack-of-all-trades branding company. Essentially, I built websites and was the primary contact with clients. For the most part, I loved the work. But a combination of many things, including my strong desire to prove my unsustainable work ethic, my people pleasing tendencies and my ‘I can do it!’ attitude saw me take the fast lane straight into a full-blown burn out. I’m talking chest pains, anxiety, sleeplessness, headaches, etc. It was hell.
So here I was…
28 years old,
leaving my job without a real plan.
Not exactly my comfort zone, but it was what I needed. It’s been a couple months of soul-searching, catching up on home projects, cuddling with my cats, and the occasional job application. I’ll get into the nitty-gritty of things in another post, but for now, let’s get into what you can expect to see around here.
So, what is this?
I’ve arrived at a point in my healing process where I am ready to start sharing my story, connecting with people, and pursuing my passions again. It’s been a dream of mine for a long time to have a space to share my thoughts, DIY projects, recipes, photos, and the occasional story about my life with James and our 3 kitties. I wanted a space that would allow me to share a wide variety of things, and touch on different subjects. Hence, The Daily Kat.
Here’s to the journey; to learning new skills, exploring & expanding my creativity, and making friends along the way!
If you have anything you’d like to me to write about, or any projects you’d like me to test out, leave them in the comments below. I’d also like to start dabbling in live streaming and video – so please let me know what kind of content you’d find interesting!
